Are Press-On Nails Bad for Your Natural Nails?

Damage usually comes from how press-ons are taken off, not from wearing them. A few simple habits keep your natural nails in good shape.

Never pull or peel

Forcing a nail off can lift layers of your natural nail. Soak in warm, soapy water or use the reset nail glue remover and lift gently. See the removal guide.

Buff lightly

You only need to take the shine off. Heavy filing thins the nail.

Choose the right fit

A well-sized nail sits flush without pressing your skin. See the sizing guide.

Moisturise

After removal, massage in cuticle oil such as the ritual cuticle oil pen. Give your nails a short break if they feel dry.

Use tabs for gentler wear

Tabs release easily and suit shorter wear. Compare options in glue vs tabs.

If you have a nail concern or condition, check with a doctor or nail professional before applying anything. Shop all sets.
