How to Choose Your Press-On Nail Size

Fit is what separates press-ons that look salon-done from ones that look stuck on. The good news: every haute set includes 30 nails in 15 sizes, so you have plenty of choice for each finger.
Match each nail
- Lay the nails out in order from largest to smallest.
- Start with your thumbs and work across each hand.
- Hold a press-on against your natural nail. The right size covers your nail from one side wall to the other without touching the skin around it.
Between two sizes?
Choose the smaller size and gently file the sides to fit. A nail that's slightly too wide will press on your skin and lift at the edges, while a slightly narrow nail filed to shape looks seamless.
Size each hand separately
It's common for your left and right hands to be a little different. Lay out ten nails in finger order for each hand before you start applying, so you're not hunting mid-application.
Choosing a length
- Super short: the most natural feel. Great for typing, workouts and first-timers.
- Short: polished and practical for every day.
- Medium: a little more drama for events and nights out.
Choosing a shape
- Square: clean and classic, especially in short lengths.
- Almond: softly tapered and elongating.
- Oval: rounded and easy to wear.
- Coffin: a tapered shape with a flat tip, for a bolder look.
Every haute product page lists the set's length and shape, so you always know what you're getting. Read the full sizing guide or shop all press-on nails.
